UTA Bus Pass or FAREPAY Card

UTA runs buses, TRAX and FrontRunner across the Wasatch Front. Most riders now pay with a FAREPAY card or the Transit app.

Updated . Edited by: Ilyass Ben Hakim.

Where to buy

Order a FAREPAY card or day pass pack on the UTA site. Cards also come from station ticket machines and Customer Service centers.

UTA Customer Service has desks in Salt Lake City, Provo and Ogden. Participating local retailers also sell and reload cards.

Professional insight

Regular commuters register the card first. Fare caps then do the work a monthly pass once did.

  • Tap off on buses, or the full fare may apply.
  • Reduced fare needs approval before the card shows it.
  • Mailed cards take days, so buy early for trips.
  • FrontRunner tap points sit on the platform, not onboard.

No. Reduced fare now runs only on an approved Reduced Fare FAREPAY card.

UTA mails orders the next business day. Delivery usually takes a few more business days.
